Continuing to be Grateful

What is the best way to express your gratitude to the people you care about? I’ve found tiramisu to be the move.

In all seriousness, the last year of trying to figure out life in a way that could be sustainable is hard without the people in my life making things so easy to get through. Without the community you build out of a shared vision for the world or similar values, it’s so damn difficult to actually enjoy the substantive upsides that people can have on you. I hate all the damn cliche moments about how the people make it worth it, but it couldn’t be more accurate, especially after the last year. You have to take things in stride especially when you don’t know how much of your life you have left.

For the vast majority of the last twelve months, I have been struggling to quite articulate how much the people in my life have made things so much more fulfilling. I have an incredible community of friends in Chicago, around school, comrades that time and time again step up for me, and most of all family that has guided me through the worst parts of life. I genuinely could not ask more from those in my life, and sometimes I don’t feel like I can articulate that as much as one would hope.
