Maybe I Will Try to Write One…

One day, I want to write a book.

I don’t think there’s something else I could conceive of having been such a big part of my future. Being a writer is an identity that I really take pride in. I’ve shared reflections on this within the context of the blog, as well as in other situations with friends and family. But writing a full-length work, and committing to the hours and months (years likely) on one project is something I hope to have the discipline to work on. It’s somewhere I think that I’ll also somehow come to a better understanding of who I am.

Part of the whole pathway as a scholar consists of the thesis, master's thesis, dissertation, all ending up to turn into likely your first full-length book. I don’t doubt that could be how I end up starting up my first couple hundred pages manuscript. I definitely believe that in at least some capacity, my thesis project right now will turn into something I can expand on in a complete text. Especially given how much of this project I’m realizing cannot be completed by the deadline in early spring, I know I will have more to say than 50 pages (just maybe not sure yet of what those words could be). I’m treating this section of the project as the beginning of a journey I’m going to spend several years on.
