Where do your principles lie?

I’m asking that as a serious question not just because of the events from yesterday, but because I’m asking myself seriously where I lie in terms of conversations surrounding where the state of things both as an organizer and the world in general for younger folks currently.

You’ve got dumb conversations about ethical/unethical consumption under capitalism, folks getting away with using US imperialism as design inspiration for fashion collections, and frankly far too many other things that are showing time and time again how bleak things can feel at times. It’s not the individual actions, but rather the lack of any substantive responses to things going forward, the lack of any real organized presence to go against BS that leaves me feeling more disappointed in where things are at. It’s not like racist things won’t continue to happen, that people will not engage in political hypocrisy, or continue to minimize any level of xenophobic rhetoric for their own personal comfort; it is precisely that there is no hostility and no disciplined organizing to respond to events like these. We are left simply with outrage and frustration voiced publicly through tweets that myself and others will share, and IG stories that call people out, but nothing is left to come from such events.
